State Budget Goes Back to Conference Committee

with one comment

The House voted 69-47 against the adoption of the budget conference committee report Wednesday.

Given that today is the last day the General Assembly will be in regular session, the Sine Die resolution (which provides for the last day of the legislative session) was amended so that if there is not an agreement on the budget by 5 p.m. today, the House and Senate can remain in session only to take up the budget.

Another conference committee report will have to be passed by the House before the Senate can return to take it up.
