Policy Council Stimulus Analysis in the News

Policy Council analyst Geoff Pallay’s recent report on federal stimulus money in South Carolina being siphoned off for non-essential uses has been picked up by S.C. Statehouse Report.

Pallay’s piece points out that some stimulus dollars purported to be needed for creating jobs – teaching and law enforcement positions, it was implied by legislative leaders earlier this year – are instead going toward festivals, concerts and agricultural marketing.
