Oconee County taxpayers want county to spend their money or give it back

Morris Keasler of Walhalla: “There should be a refund to the people if too many taxes have been collected.”; Jeff Griffith of Walhalla: “If that is the case, then I think a rebate or refund is the best solution.”; Gene Watkins of Walhalla: “Oconee County has collected too many taxes; that’s for damn sure. And I think they should lower the property tax.”


Edgefield County Council “magically” chooses finalists for Administrator’s job 

A call was placed to District 2 councilman Rodney Ashcraft later to get clarification on how the four finalists were chosen. “I don’t know,” Councilman Ashcraft said. When asked what the vote totals were for each finalist Ashcraft said, “There was no vote.” Inquiring further, Mr. Ashcraft said the executive session ended and the meeting was adjourned.
